“Candy tastes sweet.” 「お菓子は甘い味がする」

“It’s so sweet of you to take the kids to the park!” 「子供たちを公園に連れていくなんて親切だね!」

“What a sweet little puppy!” 「まあ、可愛らしい子犬ちゃん!」

You probably know “sweet” as the taste of sugar, but what about “sweet” describing a person? In Japanese it means something like “naïve”, but in English it means “kind”, “charming” or “cute”. Someone who does a favor that touches your heart is sweet. An adorable baby animal is sweet.
